Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter 2012-2013

Leander's Tower. Istanbul, Turkey

Hello everyone! This week I’m going to be talking about Turkey’s Fashion Week in Istanbul. Turkey is quite an exotic place; it seems to be a mixture of both eastern and western cultures in a way. Many Turkish fashion designers tend to blend traditional wear with modern influences, creating unique looks. One of the many designers is Günseli Türkay. Although she is fairly new as a designer, she has been in the fashion industry for many years. Her pieces at the Istanbul Fashion Week were definitely eye-catching due to the architectural structures combined with reptile patterns. Here are a couple pictures from her Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Collection:

Another well-known designer is Mehtap Elaidi. She prefers to adapt to the current trends in her own distinctive way, rather than following the majority. She likes experimenting and creating her own unique looks. That’s what makes her an exceptional designer with extraordinary talent that she loves experimenting with!

One more designer I would like to mention: Simay Bülbül. She is another extraordinary designer with great talent! She’s known for incorporating leather in her designs. For her Autumn/Winter collection, she combined leather with fabrics like satin and silk to create elegant pieces. See for yourself!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I did!
