When it comes to Brazil, carnivals also come in mind!
I happen to love Brazilian culture a lot because of the
people and of course soccer!
Brazilians are very passionate and hearty. And I love how they have carnivals
to celebrate and party all the time.
People may not be
familiar with Brazilian fashion. Speaking of Brazilian fashion, everybody would
think of bikinis and all those sexy wears. However, Brazilian fashion is
somewhat very influential since Brazil is one of the biggest growing economies
in the world. Brazil has a huge market for both domestic and international
brands.
I am going to
introduce Spring/Summer 2012 collections from two internationally famous
Brazilian designers/brands, Alexandre Herchovitch and Basso & Brooke, to you
today. The designs of these designers are highly influenced by Brazilian
heritage.
Alexandre
Herchovitch
In this collection, Alexandre Herchovitch was inspired by vintage fabrics. He discovered a trove of fifties-era fabrics at a shop in Brazil.

Basso & Brooke
They are known for
the print and graphic designs. In this collection, many floral and nature prints with
abstract and constructive motifs are seen on the garments. The colorfulness and
eye-catching looks remind people of the carnivals in Brazil.
