Hi all! The
biggest news for this week of course is not KONY 2012 but the Japanese
earthquake anniversary (3/11/2012). Besides sending out our prayers to those
victims, we are going to introduce Japanese fashion so that it may catch some
viewers’ interests to visit Japan as tourists to help thriving the economics.
Japan is known
for unique and extraordinary fashion. There are so many different fashion
styles in different regions of Japan. In different regions, there are also
different cultures and subcultures that influence the fashion trends. Those
styles change every season in a really fast pace. Trends come and go. Brands
are born and die. There is no time for you to catch up with a trend because it
will go out of fashion when you notice already.
I am going to
focus on Tokyo, which is the heart of Japanese fashion. The three most popular districts that young people and all the fashionistas gather in Tokyo are Harajuku,
Sibuya, and Shinjuku. On the streets of these three places, you don’t see only
one particular style but variety of them. Some of them are fascinated with
western style. Some of them are caught by vintage fever. Some of them are
obsessed with subcultural trends. Let’s look at all these street photos and find out how these fashion freaks in
Japan pull all the styles together!
